Girl Power overdose

I got beauty, I got class

I got style, and I got ass

And you don’t even care to care

Look here

I even put money in the bank account

Don’t have to ask no one to help me out

You don’t know what I’m about

I got beauty, I got heart

Keep my head in them books, I’m sharp

But you don’t care to know I’m smart

I got moves in your bedroom

Keep you happy with the nasty things I do

But you don’t seem to be in tune

If you only knew

Why don’t you love me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you love me
When I make me so damn easy to love?
Why don’t you need me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you need me
When I make me so damn easy to need?

Maybe you’re just not the one

Or maybe you’re just plain……. dumb.

- Why don’t you love me by Beyoncé. The text is shortened and a bit moderated but you get the picture. Here’s the link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7RFa5Y3G_k

I’m having a girl power period. When I do, I mix my good quality music with cheesy girl power songs. This one by Beyoncé is the last addition to a small, but powerful, collection of mainly 80′s songs that have no shame, fear no judgement and use all means available to make you feel empowered and good about yourself. But don’t worry, I’ll soon be over it. It’s just a part of the process.

You see, the process I go through to get over someone has 3 simple, but energy-consuming, steps.

Step 1. Make sure he knows what he’s missing out on.

Step 2. Miss him terribly and deal with an internal World War 3 about whether or not to call him.

Step 3. Have a girl power period, when I start liking those cheap ‘I’m perfect and you can go screw yourself’-songs and come up with brilliant quotes like “Fuck men, I’m getting a fish” over some drinks and rants with my girlfriends.

I still love the guy though, just need to convert it into a friendship kind of love. I guess that constitutes as Step 4.

I got a fish, his name is Bo. Girl Power overdose, the end.

I LOVE this entry! It so describes exactly what I do when I fall for a guy! And I love the girl power! I’m gonna get a fish too – I’ll call him Bubbles, and then we can do playdates! ;)
